— An LMA executive coaching client

Case study #1

About the client
A wealth management executive at a top investment bank and mother of 2 young children came to LMA for executive coaching. She was at a point in her life where it felt like no matter what she did, she could not be effective or productive enough to be able to spend more time with her family. Her job became exhausting and discouraging, and she wasn’t sure if she would ever be able to flourish in her career while also raising children.

How LMA helped
This client’s story is not unlike the experiences of most, if not all, high-performing female executives who can easily fall behind their male counterparts because they have to juggle a second, full-time career: being a mother and wife. As like-minded and similarly positioned women in business, we worked with this client to create healthier habits that allow greater work-life balance and more flexibility in her schedule. Our goal was to make sure she could maintain her high profile while continuing her professional success without having to give up something, like time with her family. We helped her develop a personal brand and cultivate authentic feminine leadership, which resulted in her promotion to the regional manager position. Throughout coaching sessions, this client saw an improvement in her decision-making skills, increased confidence, stronger interpersonal relationships, and enhanced awareness of her core competencies.

Case study #2

About the client
A tenured professor at a private university felt like her career was at a standstill, so she sought LMA’s executive coaching services to further her ambitions. While many of her peers were rewarded with coveted fellowships and administrative appointments, she was struggling to find recognition for her efforts within her academic discipline, which is not as well-funded as other departments in the university. She had no idea what to do or what opportunities were available to find greater meaning outside of work.

How LMA helped
To supplement her income, the client started a side gig that eventually turned into her own business. We helped her design a work plan and create the website. This secondary stream of income not only made her more financially secure, but it also brought fulfillment because she was able to monetize one of her long-life passions. During the time we coached her through one-on-one sessions, she was promoted within the university ranks to department chair, an administrative role she took on while maintaining her professorship. By opening her mindset to new possibilities, she got more involved in her community, pursued rewarding self-employment, and was recognized for her talents and contribution by the university.
