Lisbet Fernandez-Vina is a principal and co-founder of LM & Associates (LMA), a dynamic communication and marketing firm, providing support to socially conscious brands in a variety of industries, including transportation, nonprofit, start-up, and healthcare. In addition to LMA, Lisbet is also a co-founder and Editor-In-Chief of S Revista, a luxury lifestyle publication that has quickly risen to prominence as the preeminent lifestyle magazine for Spanish speakers in the United States.
With a career spanning more than 20 years in the communications field, Lisbet is a seasoned journalist, communications and marketing professional. Her extensive industry network, coupled with her unique skill set, empowers her to proficiently lead communications teams and consistently deliver results that have a tangible impact on the bottom line.
Throughout her career as a journalist and editor, Lisbet has held prominent positions at renowned publications. For more than seven years, she spearheaded Selecta Magazine, a monthly Spanish-speaking publication considered, at the time, the magazine of choice among upscale Hispanics in the United States. Additionally, she served as managing editor for Lincoln Road Magazine, and prior to that, as senior beauty and fashion editor for Glamour En Español, a Condénast Americas publication.
As a communicator and marketer, Lisbet excels in the art of storytelling. Prior to co-founding LMA, Lisbet served as Vice President of Marketing and Communications for Jackson Health Foundation where she led the communications team and oversaw the digital and marketing efforts for the organization. She also served as the Director of External Affairs for Miami Children’s Health Foundation (currently Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Foundation), where she managed the marketing efforts during the organization’s $150-million capital campaign, which was reached two years ahead of schedule. In the non-for-profit arena, Lisbet has also worked as Public Affairs Officer for the American Red Cross Greater Miami & The Keys and as Student Liaison for Youth Crime Watch of America.
Lisbet graduated from the University of Miami with a double major, earning a Bachelor of Science in Communication with a specialization in Broadcast Journalism and a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences with a focus on Creative Writing. In the initial stages of her career, she served as a news and traffic reporter for television/radio at Univision through Metro Networks and held the role of Assignment Desk Editor at WLTV, Noticias 23.
With a personal passion for cultivating mindfulness, Lisbet is qualified to train others in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) practices and is currently finalizing her coaching certification from the University of California San Diego (UCSD)’s Center for Mindfulness.
Lisbet takes great pride in her roles as a mother and wife, and she shares her life with a beloved white lab named Elvis.
